2012-2015 Twin Cities Cesarean Rates - Interactive Graph

Flutterby has been compiling and publishing data for cesarean rates since we started! You can visit this BLOG POST for data going back to 2010. This year is even better! You see, when you have a husband who is a rock star software developer, you get nifty interactive bar graphs like the one below... which is awesome for a visual learner like myself! He was already compiling the 2012 & 2014 cesarean data in said bar graph for me when the Minnesota Hospital Association released a Newsline on 10/3/16 announcing an update to their Minnesota Hospital Price Check site that includes 2015 birth data! Drilling down into the data + a little bit of math (okay, a LOT of math) gave us the 2015 Cesarean Rates for all MN hospitals. With the math complete, we pulled out just Twin Cities hospitals for a more focused snapshot! Continue past the interactive chart for two printable PDFs as well!

To use this interactive bar graph:

• Hospitals are listed from lowest 2015 to highest 2015 cesarean rates. Twin Cities Average is listed at bottom. 2012, 2014, & 2015 rates are included to reveal trends (so happy to see any overall downward trend in the Twin Cities)!
• Hover over any bar to see that year's cesarean rates (see legend at right for color coding)
• Use the slider bar at bottom to view hospitals that fall within a certain range.
• Use the buttons at bottom to show only those hospitals that fall at or below the TC Average; or show all!

The data in this graph represents hospital-wide cesarean rates. You should always ask your individual provider/clinic for their rates.
*Ridgeview Waconia did not have reported data for 2012.
