HypnoBirthing® is a fully comprehensive childbirth preparation course that harnesses the powers of the mind-body connection and self-hypnosis. We cut through all of the messages our culture gives us about birth and get down to the real, honest truth. We embrace birth as healthy and normal, and you will learn how to birth in a more confident way through breathing, visualization, affirmations, and deep relaxation. We break down myths and stop the cycle of fear as we walk through the process of birth. Oh, and we have fun!! Each class allows you time to practice and receive instruction on all of the techniques ("tools in your toolbox"). This course, one of only a few of its kind in the Twin Cities, is taught by Erin, Flutterby's owner and experienced educator/doula.
"I had an amazing 5-hour birth! I would definitely recommend the HypnoBirthing class at Flutterby to expecting mamas!"
Who should take HypnoBirthing®?
Expectant families who would like to learn a simple program for having an easier, safer, more rewarding birth are encouraged to attend! It doesn't matter if you are absolutely certain that you desire a natural birth, or if you are a bit unsure of your plan and you would like to gain the tools you need to relax; if you are birthing at a hospital, birth center, or at home; if you are a first-time parent or a parent to many! This program is also a natural fit for those who are planning a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). HypnoBirthing® students report fewer labor interventions and a lower cesarean birth rate than the general population.
Watch below as HypnoBirthing® families discuss how it helped them!
"This was the most amazing experience of my life! My baby boy was alert and immediately looking for where my voice and my husband's voice were coming from! Several of the nurses commented on how alert, calm, and aware of his surroundings he was." - Ashley, Lakeville, First-Time Mom
"I am not sure I would've made it through without HypnoBirthing®, and I'm so grateful to you and your course! I was able to breathe through the contractions in a different way than with my first birth."
"The breathing helped manage a lot of the discomfort and my doctor praised how calm I was throughout the process!"
"I can see it most of all in my husband... now he is not only excited about the vision we have, but he also has a lot of confidence in his ability to help me through the process."
"I feel like I was the most present of all three births. I used the breathing techniques, and it was noticeable how well they helped control the pain and duration of the contractions! It was truly a beautiful and complication-free birth. Your class was such a lifesaver!!!" - Katie, Minneapolis, Third-Time Mom
"Erin is very knowledgeable. She teaches the subject matter in a respectful way that makes everyone feel comfortable and she has the most calming voice! I loved the class and highly recommend it to any expectant mother." - Mollie, Minneapolis, First-Time Mom
